Terms and conditions

Dit is een vrijblijvende vertaling. Alleen de Duitse versie is juridisch bindend. Deze pagina is alleen in het Engels beschikbaar.

Terms of use for MeinLive (website, app and MeinLive Studio). As of: 04.10.2026.
This version applies to new users immediately and to already registered users from 18.10.2026 (see section 17). Until then, the version of 03.10.2026 applies to them.

1. Scope and provider

These terms apply to the use of the live streaming platform MeinLive at meinlive.de, the MeinLive app and the MeinLive Studio software (together "MeinLive"). The provider is Thorsten Janßen, MeinLive, Kappelwindeckstr. 48, 77815 Bühl (see legal notice). Deviating terms of users do not apply.

2. Services

MeinLive lets you in particular watch live streams, stream live yourself (in the browser, with the app, with MeinLive Studio or with other streaming software such as OBS), write in the chat, follow other users, exchange private messages, give hearts and virtual gifts and join other people's streams as a guest. Further features include recordings and clips, fan clubs, polls, giveaways, live battles, raids, watch parties, leaderboards, rewards, levels and badges, translation of chat messages and overlays for streaming software.

Basic use is free of charge. Only the purchase of coins is subject to a charge (section 8). We continuously develop MeinLive and may change, add or discontinue features where this is reasonable for users. There is no entitlement to constant availability; we strive for trouble-free operation, but maintenance and technical faults may cause interruptions.

3. Minimum age and registration

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • Only users aged at least 18 may stream live, join a stream as a guest and buy coins.
  • The information provided at registration must be truthful. Each person may only have one account; accounts are not transferable.
  • Some features (e.g. free coins, giveaways, "invite friends") may require a confirmed email address or mobile number.
  • Login details must be kept secret. We recommend two-factor authentication. Please inform us immediately if you suspect misuse.
  • If registration is temporarily closed, you can join a waiting list. This does not give rise to a claim to an account.

4. Rules of conduct and content

Users are responsible for their streams, chat messages, private messages, profile information, images, titles, clips and other content. In particular, the following are prohibited:

  • illegal, pornographic, harmful to minors, violence-glorifying or extremist content,
  • insults, threats, harassment, hate speech and discrimination as well as pressuring minors,
  • showing persons under 18 in live streams, as a guest, in recordings, clips, thumbnails or profile pictures – even briefly, in the background or with the consent of their parents or guardians,
  • infringing copyrights, trademarks and personality rights (e.g. streaming other people's films, sports broadcasts or music without rights, filming other people without their consent),
  • advertising, spam and poaching users for other platforms without our consent,
  • fraud, in particular obtaining gifts or coins by deception, and manipulating viewer counts, hearts, battles, giveaways, leaderboards, rewards or invitations,
  • creating or using multiple accounts, bots or automated viewers to obtain coins, rewards, bonuses or advantages,
  • interfering with the platform's technology (automated access, circumventing blocks or limits) and passing on personal overlay links or stream keys to third parties,
  • abusive reporting of other users or triggering the emergency button without cause.

By posting content, users grant us the simple, free right, limited to the duration of its storage on MeinLive, to store, transmit, technically adapt (e.g. convert into different quality levels), make publicly available and share within MeinLive (e.g. as a thumbnail, clip or share image) this content. Further details on data processing can be found in the privacy policy.

5. Moderation, reports, emergency button and suspensions

  • Illegal content or content violating these terms can be reported via the report function. We review reports and may remove content, hide chat messages, end ongoing streams and warn accounts or suspend them temporarily or permanently. Where required by law, we inform those affected of decisions with reasons; complaints can be submitted via support.
  • If an account is reported by several different people within a short time, it may be automatically suspended provisionally and an ongoing stream ended until our team has reviewed the case. The provisional suspension ends automatically or is lifted or confirmed by the team.
  • With the emergency button, users can immediately block a person and report them as an emergency. The most recent messages and, if applicable, a still image of the stream are saved as evidence and presented to our team.
  • Streamers and their moderators can mute or ban viewers in their own stream, restrict the chat (e.g. slow mode, followers only) and set word filters.
  • If an account is suspended due to a serious violation, existing coins do not expire automatically; however, a refund is excluded if the user is responsible for the violation. We may reverse coins, rewards or bonuses obtained through violations.

6. Going live, guests, battles, raids and watch parties

  • Streamers are responsible for everything that can be seen and heard in their stream – including guests, battle opponents and overlaid content.
  • Guests and battle opponents only take part after an explicit invitation or acceptance and can be removed or leave at any time.
  • In a raid, viewers are forwarded to another channel after a short countdown that can be cancelled.
  • In a watch party, a streamer shows one of their own recordings together with their viewers. The same rules apply as for live streams.
  • Personal stream keys and overlay links must be kept secret and can be regenerated at any time.

7. Recordings and clips

  • Streams are recorded automatically if the streamer leaves "Record" switched on. The streamer decides who may view a recording (everyone, followers only or only themselves) and can delete it at any time.
  • Recordings are deleted automatically after 3 days, except for one pinned recording per channel. There is no entitlement to permanent storage.
  • Logged-in users can create and share short clips (up to 30 seconds) from public streams and recordings. Streamers can disable clips on their channel and delete clips of their streams at any time; the creator can also delete their clip. On request, MeinLive automatically suggests clips of special moments to streamers.
  • Anyone who creates a clip may only distribute it within MeinLive and via the share function; the rights of the persons shown and of the streamer remain unaffected.

8. Coins, gifts and highlighted messages

  • Coins are a purely virtual currency within MeinLive. They have no monetary value, are not e-money and can neither be exchanged for money, paid out nor transferred to other accounts.
  • Coins can be bought in the coin shop or obtained free of charge to a limited extent, e.g. for watching and chatting, via the daily reward and missions, via "invite friends", from giveaways or via voucher codes. Daily limits apply to free coins; there is no entitlement to a certain amount.
  • Coins can be used to send virtual gifts to streamers, to highlight chat messages (pinned at the top of the chat for a limited time and shown in the stream), to join fan clubs (section 9) and to host own giveaways (section 10). Sent gifts and highlighted messages cannot be reversed.
  • Streamers currently receive no payout in money for gifts. Should a payout programme be introduced, separate terms will apply.
  • Voucher codes can only be redeemed once per account, cannot be exchanged for money and may be time-limited.
  • During coin promotions (e.g. "+20% bonus coins"), the bonus applies to purchases within the stated period; the price remains unchanged.
  • Prices in the coin shop are final prices. As a small business within the meaning of Section 19 of the German VAT Act (UStG), we do not charge VAT.
  • Payment is made via the payment providers offered in the shop (Stripe or PayPal). The contract is concluded when the user clicks the purchase button ("buy now with obligation to pay") and completes the payment; the coins are credited immediately afterwards.
  • Information on the right of withdrawal can be found in the cancellation policy.

9. Fan clubs

  • Viewers can join a streamer's fan club for 30 days at a time and pay the price in coins set by the streamer once. There is no automatic renewal and no subscription in money; rejoining is possible up to 90 days in advance.
  • As with a gift, the coins go to the streamer. In return, there is a fan badge in the chat and a fan level; neither the streamer nor MeinLive owes any further benefits.
  • If a streamer switches off their fan club or their account is suspended or deleted, there is no claim to a return of the coins.

10. Giveaways and polls in the stream

  • Streamers can host giveaways during their stream. The prize consists exclusively of coins from the streamer's own balance, which are reserved at the start. The organiser is the respective streamer; MeinLive only provides the technical function.
  • Participation is free of charge and takes one click; it must not be made dependent on a purchase, a gift or any other consideration. Logged-in users with a confirmed email address or mobile number can take part, only followers if the streamer chooses so.
  • The winner is drawn at random after the end and receives the coins automatically. If there are no participants, the coins are returned to the streamer. There is no claim to a cash payment or any other prize. In the event of manipulation (e.g. with multiple accounts), we may exclude entries and reverse prizes.
  • Polls are for entertainment only; their result is not binding on anyone.

11. Invite friends

  • Every user can invite friends via their personal link. If the invited person registers via the link, confirms their mobile number (or email address if no mobile confirmation is offered) and logs in, both receive the coins stated on the invite friends page.
  • Each account can only be invited once; inviting yourself and invitations via several of your own accounts are excluded. Suspended accounts do not receive a bonus.
  • We may change or end the programme, the amount of the bonuses and the conditions for the future. Bonuses already earned remain unless they were obtained through misuse.

12. Rewards, levels, loyalty and badges

  • Activities on MeinLive earn experience points (XP), levels, loyalty points, streaks, achievements and badges (e.g. "founding member"). They show progress and status, have no monetary value and are not transferable.
  • The daily reward and missions are counted on the server and must be actively claimed. Coins from them are only available to accounts with a confirmed email address or mobile number.
  • We may adjust rewards, points, level thresholds and badges for the future. There is no entitlement to the continuation of a particular system.

13. App and MeinLive Studio

  • The MeinLive app and the Windows program MeinLive Studio are provided for download free of charge. We recommend downloading them only via meinlive.de and installing updates promptly. Very old versions may be excluded from use if they are no longer supported for technical or security reasons.
  • MeinLive Studio is based on the free software OBS Studio and, like it, is provided under the GNU General Public License version 2 (or later); the source code is publicly available on GitHub. The terms of this licence apply to the program itself; these terms apply to the use of MeinLive via the program. MeinLive Studio is not an official product of the OBS Project.
  • When logging in to the app or MeinLive Studio, an access key is stored on the device. It becomes invalid when you log out; all logins can be ended at once via "Forgot password".

14. Advertising

Advertising may be displayed on MeinLive. Advertising is labelled as "Ad". The respective provider is responsible for content and offers on linked third-party pages.

15. Liability

We are liable without limitation in cases of intent and gross negligence, injury to life, body or health and under the Product Liability Act. In cases of slight negligence, we are only liable for breaches of an essential contractual obligation (an obligation whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance the user may regularly rely), limited to the typical, foreseeable damage. We accept no responsibility for user content unless we are obliged to remove it under statutory provisions (in particular the Digital Services Act). We are only liable for the loss of recordings, clips or other stored content in accordance with the above principles; users should back up important content of their own themselves.

16. Term, termination, pausing and deleting the account

  • The user agreement runs for an indefinite period. Users can end it at any time without notice by deleting their account in the settings. From then on, the account is no longer visible and is permanently deleted after 30 days; logging in again before then cancels the deletion. Alternatively, an account can be paused; it is then invisible until you log in again. Deletion can also be requested by email to kontakt@meinlive.com.
  • Data that we must retain for legal reasons (e.g. purchase receipts) is only deleted after the retention periods have expired; details can be found in the privacy policy. An export of your own data can be requested at any time before deletion.
  • We may terminate the agreement with two weeks' notice; the right to extraordinary termination in the event of serious violations remains unaffected.
  • Upon termination, unused coins expire; in the event of ordinary termination by us, we will refund purchased, unused coins proportionately.

17. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms with effect for the future if there is an objective reason (e.g. new features or a change in the law) and the change is reasonable for users. Registered users will be informed at least two weeks in advance by email or notification in MeinLive; if they do not object within this period, the new terms are deemed accepted. We will point out this right of objection and its consequences separately in the notification. In the event of an objection, both parties may terminate the agreement with ordinary notice.

18. Final provisions

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, this choice of law only applies insofar as it does not deprive them of mandatory protective provisions of the country of their habitual residence. Should any provision be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
